Oriental Botanicals Pain & Inflammation contains the pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory herbs willow bark and boswellia. Willow bark is traditionally used to relieve symptoms of mild arthritis, mild joint pain, muscle aches and headaches in Western herbal medicine.

Oriental Botanicals Pain & Inflammation includes:
- Willow bark and boswellia for pain and inflammation
- Willow bark to provide relief for mild arthritis symptoms, mild joint pain, muscle aches, headaches and helps reduce the occurrence of the occasional episode of symptoms of gout, as used traditionally in Western herbal medicine
- Fang feng, which is traditionally used in Chinese medicine for its pain-relieving and antispasmodic actions for mild joint soreness and inflammation, mild muscle spasms, and mild migraines and headaches
- Plus the Chinese herbs fang feng, eucommia, white atractylodes, acanthopanax, large-leaf gentian and hairy angelica
- Pain-relieving and anti-inflammatory willow bark and boswellia
Given its pain-relieving action, willow bark is traditionally taken to relieve symptoms of mild arthritis, mild joint pain, muscle aches, mild headaches as well as to reduce the occurrence of episodes of gout in Western herbal medicine.
The willow bark extract in Oriental Botanicals Pain & Inflammation is standardised to contain 30mg per tablet of a compound called salicin, and the boswellia is standardised for its levels of beta-boswellic acids.

Fang feng is traditionally known for its pain-relieving properties in Chinese medicine, where it’s used for relief of mild joint pain and inflammation, mild rheumatic aches and pains, mild migraines and headaches.
Traditional Chinese medicine also considers fang feng to be an antispasmodic herb; it’s therefore traditionally taken to relieve mild muscle spasms.
Oriental Botanicals Pain & Inflammation also includes eucommia stem bark, white atractylodes root, acanthopanax root bark, large-leaf gentian root and hairy angelica root.
Oriental Botanicals Pain & Inflammation is a Chinese herbal medicine which may reduce the symptoms of:
- Mild Osteoarthritis
- Tendonitis
- Sciatica
And assists in the management of:
- Musculoskeletal inflammation
- Pain and stiffness
- Swelling and weakness
- Also enhances joint mobility and connective tissue strength
- And promotes healing of sprains and strains
In total, the Pain & Inflammation formulation contains eight powerful herbs that work together to reduce the symptoms of rheumatoid arthritis, osteoarthritis, tendonitis, sciatica, fibromyalgia and bursitis. It also promotes recovery and repair after sprains and strains, as well as joint mobility.
The other six potent anti-arthritic, pain-relieving, anti-inflammatory, and detoxifying herbs in Pain & Inflammation include Fang Feng, Gentiana, Acanthopanax, Angelica and Eucommia.
Acanthopanax and Eucommia enhance joint repair and the strengthening of connective tissues, while Atractylodes has been included in the formulation to harmonise it and promote the overall effects.
Each tablet contains herbal extracts dry concentrate:
- Willow (Salix alba) stem bark 200mg, min. dry equiv. 1.2g std. to salicin 30mg
- Boswellia (Boswellia serrata) gum oleoresin 228mg, min. dry equiv. 912mg std. to beta-boswellic acids 148.2mg
- Fang feng (Saposhnikovia divaricata) root 187.5mg, dry equiv. 750mg
- Acanthopanax (Eleutherococcus nodiflorus) root bark 100mg, dry equiv. 400mg
- Eucommia (Eucommia ulmoides) stem bark 66.67mg, dry equiv. 400mg
- Large-leaf gentian (Gentiana macrophylla) root 75mg, dry equiv. 300mg
- Hairy angelica (Angelica pubescens) root 55mg, dry equiv. 275mg
- White atractylodes (Atractylodes macrocephala) root 20mg, dry equiv. 100mg
